Arrival & Stay

Parking: There are two assigned parking spaces in front of the condo. Please refrain from parking in any other spaces in front of the building. If you need parking for guests, additional first-come parking is located in the center island of the cul-de-sac and along the street.
Key: You will use an electronic key to get in. Before arriving, you will receive a text inviting you to download the August App. This will allow you to unlock and lock the front door. Be sure your Bluetooth is enabled. If you have problems, please text or call me. I can open it remotely.
Alarm: You will be given a temporary code to disarm and arm the alarm. The keypad is located on the wall immediately to your left as you walk in the door. You’ll have 1 minute to disarm. The alarm is monitored so if it goes off, please call me immediately so I can disarm and make sure the police don’t show up to greet you.
Thermostat: Located on the wall to the left of the kitchen-sink countertop above the brown turtle. Please keep the thermostat set at 72 degrees or higher.

IMPORTANT! Please keep the front door closed while opening the sliding door to the back deck. Due to the prevailing winds, if both doors are open at the same time, cool air will be sucked out within seconds and replaced with hot and humid air. It can also cause the front door to slam closed, so be careful. Of course, if it’s nice out, please feel welcome to open the doors and windows. Windows on the storm doors pull down but are screened.

WiFi: Network and password will be posted on the wall underneath the thermostat.

Kitchen Faucet: The faucet has a motion sensor. Lever needs to stay in the on position for the motion sensor to operate. It can also be used manually if it gets annoying.
Kitchen LEDs: Light switch near the dolphins, next to the garbage disposal controls the lights in the cubbies above the cabinets. Color can be changed using the remote control next to the switch.
Sliding Door Shades: Roller shades cover both the downstairs and upstairs master bedroom sliding doors. The controller for both is located on the wall to the left of the downstairs sliding doors leading to the back deck and dock. This remote has two channels.
Channel 1 controls the downstairs shades.
Channel 2 controls the upstairs shades.

Switch between the two by pressing the horizontal thin black rectangular button. Press the UP  button to raise shade. Press the DOWN  button to lower shade. Shades are battery operated. In case one doesn’t operate, recharge by using the long white charging cord found in the third drawer of the blue/gray cabinet to the left of the TV. If you don’t find it there, look to see if it’s already charging one of the shades. We prefer to keep this controller upstairs after we arrive to control the master bedroom shade.

Sisyphus Sand Coffee Table: Connect the black power adapter located near one of the table legs to power on. Download the Sisyphus app to control the designs. If you’re connected to the WIFI, you can control the designs playing on the table. Careful, you may find yourself staring at it for hours. Adam, a friend of ours said, “We stared at it in amazement, like cavemen staring at their first fire!”
Coming & Going: When you leave, please lock up using the August App. It’s Bluetooth, so you must be within range for it to operate.
TV’s: Operate TV’s using the Roku remotes or by downloading the Roku remote control app. Once you’re signed into the WiFi, the Roku remote app will recognize and be able to control all three TVs.
Channels – Through Roku you can access various streaming services (Netflix, HULU, Prime, NEWSMAX, etc.). Channel services like Spectrum and Direct TV allow you to watch on your smartphone. If you’re tech savvy enough, you can mirror cast or project your phone to the TV. If you’re not sure how, go toYouTube and search for “Mirror Phone to Roku TV”.

Friday Mornings: If you happen to be staying here on a Friday, please be so kind as to roll the garbage bin to the curb. Recycling comes every other week, but if you see others with blue bins out, please roll that out too. Thank you!
Condiments, etc.: You’re welcome to use condiments and spices during your stay. If you use anything else, please replace.

Breakage: We understand that accidents happen. Please let us know when something breaks so we can order replacements or arrange to have it fixed. THANKS!
Dock Lights: Rope lights and the dock lights are located on your right at the bottom of the stairs as you head to the boat slip. The lights on the posts are solar powered and can be turned on at night by depressing the small button found on the underside of the fixture’s roof.
